DESCRIPTION
Offshore and marine operations may release natural gas, hydrogen sulfide, fuel vapours and other hydrocarbons. Areas may be classified as Zone 0, 1 or 2 under IEC/ATEX, or Class I, Division 1 or 2 under NEC. Electrical equipment must match the area classification, gas group and temperature class while resisting salt spray, moisture, vibration and corrosion.
