DESCRIPTION

Oil and gas operations can release methane, propane, hydrogen sulfide and other hydrocarbon vapours. Hazardous areas may be classified as Zone 0, 1 or 2 under IEC/ATEX, or Class I, Division 1 or 2 under NEC. Electrical equipment must match the applicable area classification, gas group, temperature class and operating conditions.
